Thank G_d for Daylight Saving Time

Bild von Mikol
When I woke up at 5:30 AM, I remembered that today was daylight saving time (spring forward!). That put us on the mountain at ten rather than nine. Which means that Ezra missed the morning Base Camp session so he had to take some runs with me instead. Tough break, huh? Here’s some video of one run (if you can tolerate my upstream bandwidth–and shaky camera work).

The deceased has been sick all summer with cancer of the bowels, but had been bedfast only since July when he returned from Bethany hospital where he had been taking treatment.
He leaves a wife and three children, all of whom are at home. He had four brothers and a sister living. Only brother Henry, lives on the adjoining farm in Jackson township, one lives at Ottawa, one in Illinois and another in Oklahoma and all of them will attend the funeral.
The deceased was born in Logan county, Ohio, and came to this county from Illinois in 1871 and settled in Avon township. He was married in this county October 13, 1872, to Miss Alice G. Gregson, daughter of the late Joseph Gregson.
He was a member of the M. E. church and an old soldier. He enlisted at the beginning of the civil war, in the 59th Illinois infantry as a private, and after serving some time was sent home sick. After a few months he re-enlisted to the 97th Infantry and served to the close of the war, being mustered out as Captain of Co. B, in the 97th V. I.

In an increasingly global economy, a high school degree may no longer be sufficient to obtain a job that can support a family. We know that students are getting the message that college pays off, because a majority aspire to earn a college degree. But, college remediation rates are high, students are taking longer to earn their degree, and college completion rates are low. Early college initiatives and other dual enrollment programs are promising strategies for increasing college attainment. They offer students the opportunity to earn college credit, potentially even an associate’s degree, while earning their high school diploma.

That’s why a federal investment in fast-track programs can provide schools serving low-income students with resources and incentives to establish and support dual enrollment programs and early college high schools. Such an investment would help more students obtain a postsecondary credential by exposing them to the rigors of college-level work, motivating them to continue their postsecondary education, and saving them money in the process.

Center for American Progress Action Fund and Jobs for the Future welcomed Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) and Senator Herbert Kohl (D-WI) as they discussed their Fast Track to College Act of 2009. Experts and practitioners also spoke about their experiences with dual enrollment and early college programs and discuss their potential for increasing college access and completion.

C D E F G A H C – warum beginnt die Tonleiter nicht mit A und B ?

Frage von alaafikuss: C D E F G A H C – warum beginnt die Tonleiter nicht mit A und B ?
Ernstgemeinte Frage!

Beste Antwort:

Answer by lacy48_12

Ansonst hieße es richtiger weise a b(h) c d e f g a.
